The LEGO Friends theme was first unveiled in 2012 to replace the Belville product line that was designed to appeal to girls. Similar to the Belville sets released from 1994, the LEGO Friends theme include doll-like figures instead of the standard minifigures that are typically included in many LEGO sets. The theme follows the story of Emma, Andrea, Olivia, Stephanie and Mia, and introduces a host of new moulds that are unique to the set.

The sets revolve around the activities of the five main characters in Heartlake City, and depicts details of their lives including their hobbies, houses, and favorite places to hang out. Each character has distinct personality, so whether the kids are interested in performing arts or animals, there is a LEGO Friends character they can relate to.

The Friends Heartlake Hospital set is part of the Friends theme, and is created for girls between the ages seven and 12. It has 871 pieces used for building a hospital with three floors. When assembled, the hospital measures 11 inches wide, and over 10 inches high. There are medical rooms inside the building, as well as set of medical equipment used to care for patients. You will also find a vending machine and reception desk on the waiting room located on the lower floor of the hospital. There is an emergency entrance for patients arriving by helicopter or ambulance. Let the girls play with the mini-doll figures of Henry, Olivia, and Dr. Patel, plus a baby Ola figure.

The set is compatible with all LEGO construction sets. So you can collect all sets that are part of the Friends product line or combine this set with other construction sets for a whole world of fun. The mini-doll figures that are unique to the Friends theme can also be combined and customized in a number of ways so there is no limit to the kids' imagination.
